What is a Blower Door Test?
A Blower Door Test is a test which uses a powerful fan that depressurizes your home. This depressurization identifies air leakage which shows the homeowner where they are losing energy which can drive up their utility bills. An infiltrometer or blower door fan is placed in the main entry doorway to depressurize the home or suck the air out from the interior. This process will cause outside air to be drawn into the home through leakage points. As the fan runs, a technician will move from room to room and detect and diagnose air leaks.
